RAW CANVAS

1046 Hamilton St.

Perfect place to release your inner Picasso. You buy the canvas, they give you the paints. A perfect way to showcase your work if your just starting out, or a great way just to have fun. With it's very laid back nature, you will feel right at home painting your heart out.

Have fun,
Allie and Nora

THE NAAM

2724 4 Avenue West

Hippy or hipster; vegitarian, vegan or carnivore: this place is perfect, whatever your life style is. The Naam holds the name of longest running natural foods restaurant in Vancouver. The mellow vibe and diverse crowd, along with the chill-est waiters you've ever met make this dining spot radical...dude. If you've got a hankering for bean sprouts at 4 am, well then you are a little bit odd my friend. Who craves bean sprouts at 4 am? Still, it's open 24 hours so this may be your only option.

Stay Fresh,
Nora and Allie (and a little bit Scarlett)

F AS IN FRANK

2425 Main St.

This one may not be as "hidden" as the rest, but still definitely worthwhile. In my opinion, one of the best vintage stores in Vancouver. As a very 80's inspired shop, it keeps you coming back with newly replenished stocks of garments. The full wall of sunglasses (I recommend the life-inhancing ones) is slightly over-whelming in the best way possible. They've got t-shirts for chilling in your house, or if you're feeling risky, flower patterned parachute pants. The best store for dressing up or down.

Spend all your money,
Allie and Nora

PRADO CAFE

1938 Commercial Dr.

Relaxing with a hot cup of java or cooling off with a bowl of ice cream, this is the perfect accent to a dull day. Its chic white walls and simple decor are the epitome of an urban vibe. It's also a perfect meet up spot for many a boat shoe wearing girl and rayban wearing guy. The designs in the coffee are also enviable. All I can say is that the workers must spend many hours perfecting their skills.

Go warm up,
Allie and Nora

URBAN SOURCE

3126 Main Street

A cheap and cheerful store that literally has everything you need (or don't need) for any art project. With bargain bins galore, you'll never be bored shopping here. From chinese takeout boxes, to abandoned doorknobs and wooden feet, the most ridiculous things can be found here. You can buy paper bags in various sizes, and fill them to the top for a set price. You can also bring in your useless junk and use it as new stock.

Happy Shopping,
Nora and Allie

USED ~ HOUSE OF VINTAGE

831 Granville St.

Over shadowed by Urban Outfitters, Used is the real deal. Ugly sweaters, funky keds, retro sunglasses and a whole stock of t-shirts. It's relatively cheap, although nothing compared to VV Boutique. I got a onesie there for $19. This may be the hardest store ever to find. It's on the second story of a building across from urban outfitters. The stairs beckon you in with their animal print goodness.

Cheers,
Nora and Allie

BON'S OFF BROADWAY

2451 Nanaimo St

We very much recommend the meat.  If HST is cramping your style, and you feel like some cheap eats, then a $2.95 breakfast special may be the thing for you. Also, if you're feeling artsy, bring a sharpie. Graffiti is not only allowed, but encouraged!

One time, while eating at Bon's, an unusual waiter, most likely pushing 65, was assigned to us. He took our order in song, while clad in a police officer outfit...former stripper? I hope not.

P.S.  Look for a picture of a fork reading "the most evident utensil is none other than a pencil" tagged by yours truly.
